Studies have found that smokers who quit are more likely to recover from cancer than those who continue to smoke. If you quit smoking, you can reduce your risk factors significantly, and we are here to support you through that.
Smoking cessation program: Our cancer center smoking cessation program allows you to meet one-on-one with a nurse practitioner who is a certified tobacco treatment specialist. Most insurance providers cover this service, but it is best to contact your insurance company directly to confirm coverage.
Free tobacco and nicotine treatment services: There are programs available for all stages of readiness and on an ongoing basis. All classes are conducted virtually through Microsoft Teams.
Something you may experience after chemotherapy and radiation is hair loss. We understand that this can be very emotional and for some people, it is a daily reminder of having lung cancer. Although your hair will grow back after treatment is completed, seeing the loss every day is difficult. A wig can help you feel better about yourself and your appearance during this time, as can makeup. Here are some resources and services to help you with your hair, makeup and more:

We want you and your loved ones to feel comforted and supported throughout a cancer diagnosis. Our cancer center partners with several teams across our system, local and regional organizations and businesses specializing in support for cancer patients. These programs ensure patients amid treatment, caregivers and loved ones have access to important cancer health resources. These resources include information for accessible supportive care programs, in-person and virtual classes, and services available in our region.
There are many more resources to help you afford your treatments. These organizations are a good place to start:
We know how important faith can be during health challenges like breast cancer. These resources are available to help you get the spiritual support you need:
We know that everything can feel overwhelming, including finances, so we have Financial Counselors to help you learn more about the cost of care, your insurance coverage and claims, and how you can make the most of the payment options available to you. Our Lodging & Transportation Navigators can help you get to and from your appointments. Whatever you need, we are here to help.
No matter where you are in your journey, there are many ways we can help and support you.
