Park on Level P-3 or P-4. Bring your parking ticket with you for validation.

You will cross Michigan Street on the pedestrian bridge to enter the main lobby of Helen DeVos Children's Hospital.
Go to the information/welcome desk on Floor 1 for an ID badge and to have your ticket validated for free parking. If you forget to bring your ticket with you, please inform the welcome desk team.

Our family and visitor restrictions are to help keep patients, family members and team members safe during the COVID-19 situation, to comply with State of Michigan orders and to preserve personal protective equipment, or PPE, for health care workers who are at risk.

When you check in, we may ask a few questions about your health. Our goal is to protect patients from exposure to illnesses that could worsen their already difficult conditions. We're happy to say that yes, there are instances where a child can see a pet visitor. These visits must be coordinated through your nurse prior to bringing the pet to the hospital.
Visitors cannot bring animals, with the exception of service dogs. If you have a service dog, please call 616.391.9000 and ask to speak with the floor nurse for the patient you wish to visit.

The Renucci Hospitality House provides affordable, homelike accommodations for families whose loved ones are hospitalized at Butterworth and Blodgett hospitals and Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. This essential service supports Spectrum Health’s mission to improve the health of the communities we serve. Emergency lodging is also available at Spectrum's Blodgett and Butterworth hospitals for families with a loved one in the hospital.

If you would like to reflect, pray, meditate or simply sit in peaceful quiet, visit our multi-faith chapel. Located on Floor 11, the chapel is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If your child faces a poke, a procedure or simply feels anxious about being in a hospital, our child life specialists will come to the rescue. A telecommunications device for the deaf (TDD) is available for patients and visitors who are deaf or hard of hearing. Ask the nurse to make arrangements for a device.
Patient rooms are equipped with an in-room phone for local calls. Patients are welcome to share their in-room phone number with friends and families, at their discretion.

All patients and family members have the right to clear, complete and understandable information. The Spectrum Health Language Services team works 24/7 to facilitate accurate communication between patients and providers, helping you be an active participant in your care.
We offer free interpreting and translation services for patients and family members who are more comfortable communicating in a language other than English, or those who are deaf or hard of hearing.
