Our pediatric biochemical genetics program is the only one of its kind in West Michigan. Our specialists are experts in the evaluation, prevention, treatment and discovery of diseases caused by defects in human biochemical processes. Some disorders may be identified during the newborn screening process while others can present with symptoms at any age. The team includes specially trained physicians, dietitians, genetic counselors and nurses all dedicated to providing excellent care to your family.

I provide education, monitoring and support for patients.

Genetic Counselor

I meet with families to review detailed family history information. I also organize the genetic testing process.

Registered Nurse

I see patients in clinic and work closely with patients on enzyme replacement therapies.

Medical Social Worker

I assess psychological needs of patients & assist with connecting families to local resources as needed.

Medical Assistant

I assist with scheduling, preparing patients to meet the provider in clinic and work on authorizations.

Our location

We are located at 35 Michigan Street NE, Suite 3003, in downtown Grand Rapids. Parents of children at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital and their visitors may either park in Ramp 3 or use valet parking at the main entrance circle drive off of Michigan Street. Parking is free at all Spectrum Health ramps but you must have the parking ticket validated at the clinic or one of the hospital information desks.
