Keeping patients relaxed and comfortable

Physician anesthesiologists, certified nurse anesthetists and anesthesia assistants make up our team that provides precise, comprehensive care to every patient. Our core group of physicians are pediatric fellowship trained and clinical teaching faculty members. They bring a variety of subspecialty interests and backgrounds, which allows us to draw on a wide range of experiential expertise in planning anesthesia support for all patients and all subspecialties.

Our team understands the concerns that families face when a child requires anesthesia for a procedure. After consulting with the medical team managing each patient, our anesthesiologists will implement the optimal anesthetic plan for the procedure, tailoring each step to the child's specific needs.

• Inpatient anesthesia: We provide anesthesia services for all inpatient surgeries at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital.
• Outpatient anesthesia: Many surgical procedures are performed on an outpatient basis. We provide anesthesia in a way that promotes an early discharge home. 
• Sedation services: When required, we provide sedation for patients undergoing imaging or invasive procedures outside of the operating room. 
• Airway management: We provide consultation and care to patients who may be at risk for complications resulting from pulmonary disorders or challenging airway anatomy.
